Livid - why quote one price then charge another

Friday called into local consumables supplier, obtained quote for new Oil Fuser Roller for my colour laser, price was on a par with some of the internet companies, so ordered item. Went in to pick up today price on invoice was £12.00 plus VAT higher than I was told on Friday .

Needless to say they still have the roller, don't you just hate it when that happens.

Reordered on line and for £10.00 more than they wanted and also got a compat cartridge for my Brother laser .

Happenned the other way round for me on insurance - phoned up ASDA, they quoted £981 'if you commit now', I said I'll ring around first. Rung them back the next day with the quote number, they said 'is that the £924 quote?' Saved me a few pennies.
