Well I'm half watching it but I'm listening to Def Leppard at the same time and posting on here, waiting for 'Escape From Alcatraz' to come on. Seems to involve some people shifting dodgy gear because they're skint. Needs must, I suppose.
However, that's all I know - what's the story then?

I am in the same state as you, however, isn't it sad? Sad in many different ways... sad that people stoop so low, in some cases, sad that some people are so desparate, sad that some people are so stupid, like the woman, heavily pregnant with a fag in her mouth....

Yeah. TBH some people bring it on themselves and others could help it but don't.
However, either way, there is no excuse for introducing a child to it all. I see some of those people pregnant or with a pushchair and all I can think of is 'oh look, another chav'.
Being skint is nothing to be ashamed of - hell, I'm close to being skint FFS, I'm a stoodent! - but it's what you do with yourself when you're skint that is the measure of you.

Me and the missus have watched it for a number of weeks now, and are constantly amazed at what goes on! It seems that it is de-rigeur to smoke and drink when pregnant, be able to get off from repeat offences (e.g. beating up a copper - whilst preggers I might add) and I'm thinking of opening up a pawnbrokers because that must be the easiest money ever! The owner of cash converters said last night that his store manager did a good job and "kept me away from the customers" I suspect he meant that more as "kept the customers well away from me thankyouverymuch"
Good to see that Vernon is making a re-appearance next week, after we were told he had been taken into psychiatric care a few weeks ago. To me he is the only one (possibly joined by the busker) who has actually come across as not being a complete scrounger.

Agreed, if the part of my tax bill that goes as benefits were for helping people like this I would pay with a smile but the 'family' with the smoking mother were utter scum.
Watched that last night, its near compulsive viewing... Very worrying in some cases though.

Back on subject for a moment, the problem is that though we generally here at PH can see what scum some of the benefit, smoking while preghant brigade are. A growing minority of the population see their behaviour as normal.
Also saw a new episode of Wife swap on e4 the other night... And that was as depressing.
Again we encourage everyone at every stage in life to not perform to the best of their abilities. To not even try as there is a safetynet. The safety net is there or should be there to only help the really needy. Not those that have decided that they would rather smoke and srink all day rather than contribute.
