That's if you can still get the parts.
A chum of mine had his Rallye pranged by a hit and run a while back. It took him the best part of 6 months to track down a front bumper.
O/T - Bedford, I'll be booking the flights tomorrow so let me know the hotel details in due course, cheers.

Lovely. Was the Golf Rallye actually used in rallying at all? I watched it quite a bit during that era and I don't remember it at all.
i have a feeling it was the victim of a rule change or something like that .
Probably something to do with superchargers. I have a feeling they were banned post-Group B, mainly because the Delta S4 had one alongside its turbocharger (and ilegal Nitrous Oxide hidden in the fire extinguishers and fed through the roll cage)

They had a fair few goes, but failed to get any real power out of the G blown engine compared with the opposition running turbos.
No surprise that the Evo beat it.
I have a Golf mag article written by one the the development team some where.

Yes, it was used as a Group A car in around '89 but, as someone just said, they couldn't get enough power (possibly because the supercharger had to use the same restrictors as the far more efficient turbos) and it remained a slightly half-hearted effort on the WRC stage.
Won the German championship a couple of times though - against decent opposition.
There was another version built off the Mk3 as a prototype for another homologation special. That would've been a real flyer in the Integrale/quattro mould, but VW canned it on cost grounds after one prototype.
