Happy St Georges day too.
A bit of info on him
He is patron saint not only of England but also of Aragon, Catalonia, Georgia, Lithuania, Palestine, Portugal, Germany and Greece; and of Moscow, Istanbul, Genoa and Venice (second to St Mark). He’s also patron saint of soldiers, archers, cavalry and chivalry, farmers and field workers, riders and saddlers, and he helps those suffering from leprosy, plague and syphilis.

I haven't really seen anything about town related to st georges day although I did see a seat alhambra with two of the miniature st george crosses flying out of each window which struck me as being bit odd...until now of course: D'oh!

Indeedy… I’m in Barcelona ATM and the whole town’s going barmy. Flags all over the shop. Stalls on every street corner selling roses. Every bar and restaurant is packed. The whole city centre is like one big street party. Not much chance of that happening in England I guess

Going to leave this thread till tonight when the boys are in bed and we can have a proper pished up moan
Btw, it was weird but refreshing in an exciting way to hear capital radio making the proper distinction between the british and English national anthoms today. What was even funnier was the fact he kept getting emails telling him to stop playing it so he played it even more.

Isn't the British anthem God Save the Queen, and the English Anthem is Land of Hope and Glory?
Could be wrong though, I'm Irish (from an English family, and utterly disgusted I can't celebrate one like I do the other.
) BTW, what's all this about Stockport Council fining anyone who hangs out St Georges flags today? Knobs.

The English national anthem is Land of Hope and Glory.
Sadly i don't think many people know the second line, myself included
..da da dadada daaa! or something. Surely they should teach it in school or is that another debate?
