So who actually liked it?

Have to say I don't mind it. It's not exactly great though - It was given to me as a present and I only really kept it for "Begging You."

The Best Of the Stone Roses album has just turned up at my door though, so if anybody wants a free copy of Second Coming gimme a shout!

Not as good as the first one but still an excellent album. Haven't listened to it for ages, gonna have to dig it out now.

But taking 5 years to follow a great album with a very very good one is guaranteed to disappoint people.

Not too keen on this one myself, and have'nt listened to it in ages. I remember there is one very good song on it though - a slow number, but i don't have the name to hand

I like it as much as the first album. Come to think of it, they never recorded a single track I don't like.

Brilliant album. I know it's not what people were expecting from the 'Roses, but by then their old sound was a bit outdated. Think of it in terms of a Britpop album and it's awesome.

I dunno. They were certainly massively influential through the Madchester era into the '90s, but a new sound was emerging. I never said it was better, I just think Second Coming is very much a (good) product of its time.

Having said that I do prefer the Charlatans to the Stone Roses - massively underrated band.

I got a mail yesterday confirming that The LA's will be playing Glasto.

I really cant wait for that. Sundown, few bevvies, feeling generally good about the world and then hearing the opening bars of 'There she goes'

Saw them 3 times last year - Crowd surfing to 'Toothache' was a particular highlight

Twice for me last year: Leicester and Brixton. Brilliant as ever - and Sproston Green is one of the greatest set-ending tunes of all time.

The Brixton gig was the one they filmed for their new DVD wasn't it ?

Caught them at Hammersmith Apollo (they wheeled out Ronnie Wood for the encore - top night), The V fest and Norwich UEA.

Sproston Green is indeed a great tune to go out on

They are playing Reading this year but unfortunatley all the tickets seem to have gone - I think a trip to Leeds may be on the cards...

Saw the Charlatans in Newcastle last year. Brilliant gig but overshadowed by Ash, who I'd seen the night before, and was absolutely knackered from at the time.

Jeez, what can you say?

Absolutley stunning band, and by a long shot my fav of all time.

Waterfall, She Bangs The Drums, Mersey Paradise, I Wanna Be Adrored.....and the list goes on!

When I was in my ealy teens, I hated indie with a passion, and by my late teens I started to grow into it.....Then one day when I was 19 I suddenly got The 'Roses.

The roses are class. i was only 14 when they split and never got into them until 5 years latter.

Ian Brown at the Glasgow Carling Academey last october was one of the best gigs ever. When he walked on stage and Sally cinnamon started up....well!
