Just handed in my notice!

Handed in my notice after 10 years at the same place,
I have been a manager of a manufacturing type business for all this time but finally due to poor wages and lack of prospects i feel it is time to move on.
My question is - If anyone knows of any good jobs going for a very hard working reliable person , who can learn any trade in a very short space of time, preferably in Warwickshire area please let me know, as i am not the sort of person to laze around for any amount of time.

No jobs I'm afraid but good luck anyway. Takes guts to step out of a position you've been in for so long, regardless of the issues that prevail.

If you're good at what you do, people you have come into contact with will have recognised it. I'm sure if you explore your contacts you'll have offers come your way.

Umm, on the other hand, you may have just commited short-term financial suicide.

1) Ask yourself how necessary your monthly wage is (ie mortgage/rent etc.)

2) It can be a long wait before that better or more well paid job arises {if at all}. My bitter experience of the year 2000 lost me many £thousands by being honest whilst unemployed.

3) Because you packed your job in, you are not entitled to Social Security benefits for six months (outwith child care etc.). After that, you have to prove that you have callateral of less than 3K before the DHS pay more than £50 a week in Job Seekers allowance.

Harsh, yes- but the fact is, you should've maybe "engineered" a redundancy for yourself other than hand in your notice.

Isn`t there a large motor manufacturer somewhere near warwickshire? Oh.......Bugger. Best of luck mate, did it myself and it`s not easy.
