The political runes are auspicious, but the contexts are grievous.
Rover's over.
Unleaded hits 90p / litre, fuel duty protests are on the horizon the organisers are round about these parts, it's on the front page of local papers, etc

I dont get what the shock is about. Rover has been 'over' for ten years, kept afloat by accounting trickery and loans. They have no saleable products, have invested in pointless projects like the MG SVR and suchlike, while denigrating the marque with wittery like the City Rover. There needs to be a plan to reinvent them, develop profitable new cars and invest in the future, rather than about with Chinese car conglomerates and sticking MG badges on ten year old car designs!

Personally I've had enough of politicians for one week, having barfed when Hewitt got choked up over job losses at MG. Where was this touching humanity when she was putting the boot into the UK IT contracting market?
