Chaps,

As the internet is proving to be a disappointment on this subject, I was hoping someone on here could help (as this place is better than any guide)...

...I'm out in Newcastle (-upon-Tyne) next saturday night with a stag party - there'll be about 14 of us, all pretty normal blokes over 30 - am trying to find a decent nightclub to go where (a) we don't look like old gimmers, (b) no charvers, (c) don't have to be achingly trendy, and (d) we can have a laugh.

Any thoughts from anyone? Cuba Cuba sounds interesting, although apparently it's "rock" night on saturdays which always concerns me a little...

Any help greatly appreciated.

Post this in the northeast forum. Most active NEPHers are from the Newcastle area.

nightclubs you have:

1) The boat
full of Gateshead scum and smells of urine and vomit.

2) Baja
3) BlueBabu
Baja is decent enough as is BlueBabu (same company run them). BB is the better choice IMO although it will be packed.

4) Ikon
is meant to be very rough, but I know plenty of people who head there for enjoyment. It's a nice big place with plenty of atmosphere.

5) Foundation
Never been to foundation but thats because I've heard it's full of undesirables. Friends do go mind so it can't be that bad.

6) Sea
is the stable ground for plenty of my mates, although again I've never been. Meant to be nice inside.

7) Jimmys2
is more a bar than a club.

Have you realised there are plenty of bars with late licences, Revolution, Buffalo Joes, Akenside, CocoV, Gotham Town, Jazz Cafe...

email me if you want some good ideas -> yhm

cocoV has been shut for about a year stefan!

it was pretty good though...

personally i'd head to the northumbria SU but you guys might not like it there although it's an extremely fertile sharking ground

best bet is blu bambu or world headquarters, although saying you want to avoid charvas is like saying you want to go to manchester and avoid northerners

I was there at Uni and I have never seen so much poon-tang in my life. I was like a dog with 12 dicks.

Seriously, during a social ebb, I indulged in some blind dating (as I am a cad and a sleaze) and went out with some total stunners. The absolute tragedy was that I couldn't understand a bloody word. It was hopeless.

It is carnage and you will have a great time.

Yep, World Headquaters is pretty good, not reallystag party material though. Maybe you're best headding down the Quayside, then to one of the late clubs.

Northumbria Student Union? Never been there
