Have they really got nothing better to do?

As someone who harbours a profound contempt for much of the over nannying jobsworthism that only the public sector can devise these days, it was with a sense of yet further, I suppose, feeble inevitability, that this story limped into view, a tale which seemed concerned with wrapping up Albion's increasingly hapless subjects with even more fluffy, risk free, state-sponsored cotton wool.
The whole health & safety game is in clear jeopardy of entirely preventing man from arising of a morn, for fear of frankly, anything you care to mention.
The notion that office furniture - and all it's evil works - is so psychologically nightmarish, has me reaching for the guava juice already.
The UK taxpayer is now financing research into how to make offices softer. SOFTER???
I just can't believe we are now so ball bouncingly wet.
Can you honestly believe that in this day and age, we'd have been in any state, whatsoever, to fend off Adolfus & rabid wolverines?

If my employers want to make my working environment more comfortable at their expense that is non of my concern, although my productivity is more closely linked to my salary tbh.
What i do object to is the pointless memos that keep appearing in my inbox from the H&S department regarding lab safety. The last one detailed the potential hazards of picking up something that was too heavy! Apparently some pillock picked up a centrifuge rotor they could barely move and hurt their back! Here's another one advising people not to look at open UV sources without appropriate shielding otherwise you'll go blind!

Conversely, at Heathrow, if a heavy looking bag comes through without the heavy bag label on it they all rush to get there first.
6 months on the sick, ideal!
Actuarial rates for baggage handlers are shocking.
Wasnt Gazboy saying that there is a Hazmat sheet for Paper thats written on, you guessed it...
The French have the right idea about the HSE. They dont have one.
