Going to buy a power/jet washer thingy this week, probably on Friday. I dont want anything weedy, looking for something with a bit of power, dont want loads of features. Any recommendations from folks on the current bargains/best deals?

don't get the cheapest ones though, get one of the 5 series or better as the cheaper ones don't seem to last too long

I don't know the make but I was using one with 5000 PSI and a diesel engine. It would strip paint off things.

I'll have a look as they are munters. If you are going to have a pressure washer, have one with proper pressure (not that big either).

I've just bought a Wickes 160 Bar Washer. Theyre made by an italian company - Lavor.
Max Pressure - 160Bar
Max Volume - 510 ltr/hr
Motor Power - 2800w
Warranty - 2 year

All for £120.

Beat that!

Edited to add if you want a Karcher thats anywhere near that spec it'll cost you £250.

Also I used to user a Diesel Karcher when working as a valeter and I'm still impressed with Wickes job!

Don't forget pressure is'nt everything, high pressure often means a low volume. You need pressure & volume to be effective.

Just compare the figures carefully, or buy a cheap one.

Yes, a Karcher K520M costing £200 does 450 Ltrs per hour. The Wickes machine costing £120 does 510 Ltrs per Hour (as stated in my previous post)

The Wickes machine is a good deal, but Derby/Notts had sold out. I ended up with a cheapie at £99 but it flows 450 at 120 with a 3 year warranty. I'm happy, just been washing down the drive/house/new conservatory base with it.

Thanks for the advice, but £99, cant go wrong!

I go with cheap and replace annually. Just bought (today) a Karcher 1010 which can use my old high end hoses and attachments, flow rate of 330 lph and 100 bar pressure for £44 at B&Q. If it lasts a year, I'm winning. If not, it's under warranty...

Good call BG - cheap and replace is the way to go!
