Now the conservative party has decided it's much more fun in opposition and to start the next leadership campaign now how about we start a motorists party?
If we can get enough candidates together (£500 per head now I'm afraid) we can get party election broadcasts to use to put our issues to the public. If we do it well the main parties might even steal some of them.
Does anybody know where we would register a new party? I believe we may still have chance to do it now before the election campaign officially starts.
I'm sure we could put a manifesto together and an amusing campaign video + song. I have a few ideas but suggestions are welcome.
No dumping dead horses in the street though, that's just sick.

It's pro and anti car. The point is that nobody will vote for us, they will vote for whoever they want to run the asylum. We need a party to get our ideas out in the open, cause debate and hopefully get our plans nicked by the major parties.

We need out fearless leader (Ted) to do some research as the population demographics by constituency to find the highest density of PHers. That's where we should put up a candidate......then we all need to change our address to one house in the area
30,000 people living at one address might prove a tad suspicious but at least we would win!

Effective Lobbying of Government of the Day however is far more effective.
Had a feeling the both the AA and RAC carry out lobbying on behalf of car users.

Scrapping all speed limits everywhere and relying on duty of care to be the main legislation to police roads
Scrapping Motorway lighting and traffic lights (environment)
Banning pressure groups from having charity status
Banning public bodies from supporting pressure groups
Some sensible policies None Green and admitedly the Tories will not adopt many of them.
However the point remains they are the most pro Motorist of the three main parties-and the only one of the three in the past couple of decades to make the moral case for the car.
If you want to achieve things why not write to your local conservative MP and set out the sort of pro Motorist policies yoiu would like to see in their manifesto.

Oh and the AA and the RAC-they have been taken over by the Lentilist scum-it is like the invasion of the body snatchers.

I don't think either of those bodies has done any favours for the motorist recently, so I wouldn't count on it.
I would say 'recently' means within the past 40-50 years, though I get the impression the RAC is a bit more on our side than the AA is. Even so, they both toady up to the government far too much for my liking.

The Conservatives are managed by idiots and dont deserve to win. They are cowardly anti car slime. Never mind elections time to blockade the nation till our demands are met.

I believe in the following
0. Data on road accidents(that don't personally identify people) , planning and traffic policing should all be published for scrutiny. It isn't a national security matter so why should it be secret?
1. Drivers (not speed) Kill. So stop the unnecessary emphasis on speed and put it where it belongs - training.
2. Make public transport good enough for people to want to use it without forcing them out of their cars. Afterall, if people use public transport it will make the roads better for those of us who don't.
3. Motorcycles to use buslanes. When was the last time you saw a traffic jam of motorbikes?
4. Expansion and investment in the national cycle network. As it gives us another option for local journeys and separates bikes from cars.
5. Abolish road fund licence, put it on petrol; Issue MOT & insurance discs. - Although advances in technology will prevent
6. All speed cameras should be publicly reviewed indivually and annually with a limit on the number that any one police force can operate. The panel in charge should be elected - that will make them think twice about revenue cameras.
7. Driving tests every five years, including first aid, skid control, basic checks on a car.
8. Can tackle dumped cars quickly and cheaply by increasing new car registration fee to it's CO2 figure, then paying out for scrapping cars - 33% to owner, 33% to scrappy, 33% to DVLA (to administer). This would reduce costs on local councils who currently spend over £100 for each car they have to pick up.

It doesn't have to be a single-issue party, it just needs to be a party voted in by a majority who are all arsed-off with the current bunch of ham-shankers. Let's see, a majority of, say, thirty million MOTORISTS would be a good start...

Not at all I a very much pro democracy and in favour of consensus government. 2 party first past the post systems do not work we have only voted bad government out for the last 40 years. On May the 5th we should have a chance to vote for all sorts of measures that we want to see in place but we will, instead vote down the majority of one of the worst governments ever, maybe even worse than Thatcher was. If we had a PR system and a much smaller fee to stand for parliament we would finish up a larger mumber of independants in the commons, including a few greens perhaps and even a few BNP. The result however would be representative of the nations views on all topics and from all political stances. I am certainly not an anarchist I am, however a libertarian. I do not think it is the job of government to to take the stupid advice of civil servants and impose control measures for every aspect of the electorates lives. I do think it is reasonable and sensible to maintain a basic grip on civilisation through taxes and controls over violent and anti social behaviour. This should obviously extend to health care and education, but we do not need to make the vast majority of government controlled activity polical. What is political about roads or rail transport? Just select a good CEO give it a budget and let it get on with it. Why do we have 3 political parties so feared of any kind of alternative they ban the BNP who clearly have nothing to offer and schmooze with the green vote to a far greater extent than there is support for. Why are all 3 parties so gutless as to not denounce the politically oreinted public bodies like the BBC etc? Their fear is pathetic, all 3 parties are unelectable and the majority really vote none of the above by spoiling the balot paper or simply not voting. Time for a change.
