Anyone went to the Superbike at BrandsHatch...
Discussion
Some moron in the Wedge nearly took me out whilst on was on my way home last night on the bike.
I was on a major road back towards Brands Hatch (going up hill), can’t remember the A road, (2 lanes up hill, one lane down) and i was over taking a slow moving MPV. Whilst over taking i seen this Wedge coming towards me and he had no intentions to stopping. For some reason he thought that he could overtake and massive queue of stationary cars (all leaving Brands Hatch) and then try and cut in at the bottom of the hill by the round-a-bout. Just wanted to know if it was anyone on here, as that was the crappest, most dangerous driving I’ve seen. I had to get on the breaks and dive in behind the MPV so that i wouldn't be hit! Fair enough if a bike does it as they are normally in their lane, or don't take up the lane of the opposite traffic, but for a car. Just plain stupid.

Sounds absolutely abysmal driving

Was it a good meet? I was tempted, but Coombe was the less busy easier option.
Didn't meet up with anyone as the whole weekend was spent digging up the garden. But i thought that i couldn't go a whole weekend without a ride, so once i finished the garden around 4ish i got on my bike for a nice 70mile trip in the sun.

Been down that strech a fair few times myself and:-
a) This is not something you can easily miss - in the direction of travel of the Tiv you can see downhill for at least 500 yards. It is very clear that of the three lanes the middle one is for uphill trafic to overtake crawlers and when I was last on it (FF Fest '04) the markings were clear as day. If that was their excuse then they shouldn't have a licence anyway as they obviously must be blind!
b) Whoever this was must have a very limited imagination, I seem to remember that the breaking area for the roundabout is slightly off camber and is certainly on a slight right hand turn, it is also a very small roundabout and not the place to be the last of the late brakers!
Yes I too have blasted down the hill in the middle lane but only when the middle lane had been clear, with somewhere to pull in if need be, or when time speed distance have shown it to be 'on'.
Only time when I would argue against deano would be if he had pulled out into the lane when the Tiv was already there, but it doesn't sound like that happened, and in anycase 1, 2, even 3 cars okay, a line of traffic? To$$er

wouldn't even call it a drive as nothing was moving or the traffic was crawling along as there was a round-a-bout at the end of the stretch. I think it was a matter of "i've a got a powerful car that will clear all of this in a few seconds, so bollox to it all i'm going for it and hope that nothing comes my way". Like you guys said, T**t. Just wanted to know if it was anyone on here, but thinking about it i doubt that it would as everyone on PH has learnt to drive.

sounds like the A20 between the M25 roundabout and the small roundabout with the Vauxhall Garage (Kings).
Agreed, signage/markings are totally clear.
No it wasn't this way. When you come out of Brands you take a Left to go away from the M25 down the A20 towards Maidstone, follow it until you come to the first round-a-bout, you can only go to the left and it was this road. (Its the one with the nice view)
