Anyone here a forum member of barryboys? Can they do me a favour and find out why I've been banned?

My username is the same on there as it is here. I suspect that during my attempts to start a forum war on a chavalier site, some unscrupulous admin may well have tried my account details on barryboys, and posted a goatse or something.

I can't email the barryboys admin to find out what happened though.

Why not just log out of your account and go on as a guest to see what's going on?

Hmmm, just read a long tedious exerpt of an IRC conversation where you posted about somebody's Rover being a shed.

Sorry, fell asleep after that!

BTW, it looked fine to me - 214 SEi had a nice spec and it has some nice wheels and the Coupe bumpers on it, looks tidy.

So maybe you got banned for predictable boring slagging off Rover posts!

Is that site purely there to have a go at people's modded cars.

I'd dig further in the site but some of it is in a dialect of English I don't understand...

Just had a look, from what I've seen so far it seems to be just a concentrated form of some of the posts we get on here about crap cars on ebay etc.

Here's the winner of 'Shed of the Week' for this week

Thing is, not all max'd cars looks bad. Many look terrible, but a well thought out scheme looks good. A lad down the road from me has made subtle but noticable alterations to his punto and it looks great. No vents, no scoops, just some skirts, some smoothing and a decent set of alloys. It looks fantastic (so so much better than a standard punto) and he doesn't give any talk about it being quick, he just wants it to look good until he builds up his no claims.

Better he's doing that than drinking buckie and chibbing people.

I think I should go have some late night fun on the barryboys boards since this place seems to shut down just as I get kicking.

I wander over there from time to time. It started out as bashing the horriffic sheds and the uniformly modded fiestas that you see going around. The whole thing started getting out of hand when it started to include the more professionally modded cars. Still its good when you want to hone your flame war skills as some of the members are very skilled at verbally taking a flamer's logic apart

....and cars with barely no modification at all being dissed by kids who have NO idea about vehicle engineering. I had a discussion with someone on there in which I attempted to point out that a lot of cars simply don't need disc brakes on the rear. He didn't get it.

I used to post on there... and it started to get a bit repetetive and pointless...
...plus some of the sheds were done very well, even if not to my taste..and aren't really what the original 'battered and maxed shed' was about

I only used to rip the piss out of the real sheds (like the ripspeed Rover, an alltime classic). The nicely modded cars I'd leave alone, each to their own tbh. If someone smooths a bonnet or removes the keyholes, fine, its when you get idiots putting 35 stickers down their bonnet, painting their brake drums red, and sticking a tin of beans on their exhaust...

I can't log on, even as a guest, I reckon they've banned my IP.
