Way of life threatened.....

A slightly drunk post, but relavent nontheless. I've been out tonight in my dad's local, its a bit of an old mans pub and it's very friendly. The sort of country pub with a roaring log fire, good beer and a core of decent local folk who go in on a regular basis and make the pub what it is. The last landlord was a retired BiB and didn't take any shit from anybody. He looked after his regulars and kept a bloody good pub. However, since my last visit its been bought by a pair of chavs, well that's not accurate: the parents of the chavs have bought it; their offspring, who run the pub, are basically unemployable and the pub has gone from a good country pub to one that is full of baseball caps and burberry! I know that threads about chavs and pikeys on these fora are common, but i feel as though the country is being taken over by class of people who have no value whatsoever and tonight has brought it home to me. The pub had gone from a nice place to spend a couple of hours to a place where I felt threatened! We need to take our country back! I wouldn't mind but the tax i pay goes to support the people who are making my life less enjoyable!

They'll leave, people vote with their feet, out here in darkest SE Cornwall, we (locals) used to walk to the next village for a pint. Decent landlords came, we stopped walking. It's a good pub. If it isn't up to scratch and you need to get pissed with your chums, chip in and buy a shed!

Everything is always Thatcher's fault isn't it None Green-I don't remember her with a burberry cap on-I bet if he had stopped to ask them their political allegiance-it would have been Labour-because Labour stands fot sitting on your arse while the benefits roll in.

That is not true. The class we know as 'Chav' was wrought out of an utterly disenfrachised, displaced and unaligned wellpool of working class offspring that saw their natural pastures being taken from them and given to legions of 'needy' immigrants. It is what happens when people feel they have been abandoned, and you take away their mast upon which to nail their colours. Like this or not, it is the truth. The chav class has grown in direct proportion to the sea changes that have occured in our society. When they see that society is not theirs to belong to, the idea of 'civic pride and self-respect become currencies that no longer have any meaningful value. It is not society or the state that will lay claim to them in the future, it will be the Corporations that will take care of them. From bottle feeding them, to Jailing them...

That's what I'm trying to convince my dad to do (find another pub) but he's been drinking in there for most of his life and a seige mentality has set in. He stands with his pint of mixed (prizes for guessing what that is) while 20 year old lads drink lager top and throw themselves around the place to the dulcet tones of snoop dog. It would be funny if it wasn't so bloody annoying. The thing is that the chavs don't even drink that much! Instead they go outside to smoke crafty joints and come back in again for a sip of their lager tops!
