I suspect the answer is yes, hoped you were going to say Civic Type R, to which you can definately dealer fit it to

1800 sounds very reasonable given how much these things cost as an option.

it only costs 1500 quid as an option

So 300 quid more as a retrofit is pretty good going considering they'll have to take it apart first. Its actually quite a lot of work to retrofit aircon.

It hadnt used to be available as a factory option on the Civic Type R

Might be cheaper to sell your car and buy one with aircon tbh.
