Babies fed on bland diet develop taste for junk
Discussion
A study has shown that infants weaned on rusks, baby food and processed foods are more likely to go on to prefer bland carbohydrates such as crips, white bread and chips.
So if any PH's are having trouble getting their children to eat healthily-the problem may have started when they were a baby

Friend of mine had a hell of a time finding out what was causing his son's behaviour (demanding attention, shouting, etc).
His missus eventually removed all traces of refined sugar from his diet, along with all preservatives that were possible to remove.
Hes now a very calm, intelligent little boy, who isn't interested in McDonalds (won't eat it), has sweets every blue moon, and reads books like there's no tomorrow. Almost everything he eats is prepared by his mother.

When I was little I used to have a bad reaction to all the artificial crap in fizzy drinks-I think allot of behavioural problems in little children are linked to diet.
We weened my daughter on organic Heinz jars and she is a very fussy eater.
My son was weened on home cooked food and will eat the plate as well if we're not careful.
Read into that what you will, but if we were going to have another, and we're not as 2 is more than enough, I' definately go the home cooked route.

My family also bear this out-When I was born my parents probably due to lack of funds more than anything, used to put whatever they were eating into a blender then feed it too me. I always ate what they cooked during childhood.
My sister was fed on baby food-she is an incredible fussy eater and won't eat things like roast chicken, vegetables etc and lives on a diet of pizza and micro chips.
If you do feed your baby what you are eating it has it's limits however, they once had to take me to a doctor when they fed me something high in garlic-the doctor was a bit shocked by all accounts when he heard.
If I consume to much in the way of preservatives, flavourings, colourings, addatives (MSG is the worst)man, I get the blues.
If I mix the above with too much alcohol, I literally trip out into my own world, and come back to the mother planet with the equivalent of PMT/PMS.
Mega sensitive to the crap they put in foods. As a kid, id even have halucinations (people walking about etc) if in a hypnogogic state (sleepy) after a little cough medicine! Needless to say I enjoyed being sick

What study, what controls. I could find a study stating that the moon was made of cheese on the internet. People get paid money to come up with this shit. FFS you feed Inuit babies are on raw seal / fish / etc and you find they have a liking for the same kind of food when they are older, but I am sure they will also enjoy high energy processed offerings. Mothers in poor western families feed their babies on cheap processed shit. Their children grow up liking cheap processed shit, but have no inclination to try anything else. You don’t need a study to tell you these things, use your Tesco white value loaf.
Our bodies are programmed to crave high energy salt rich food. This was necessary hundreds of years ago, but now we have to actually think about the things we eat.

A study by Dr Gilliam Harris at Birmingham University-It was in Todays Telegraph (should be on their website, maybe on the BBC's too?)
