Okay so summer is coming (apparently)and I agreed to a patio.

I was wondering how much a red brick costs? I need about 600 of them and have been quoted about 50p each, I thought that was expensive, but what do I know?

Any builders merchants out there?

Just paid 33p ea for 500.

It depends alot on what bricks they are. Try

www.ibstock.uk.com/

You can buy through build centre. They will charge you a premium if you ask them to ship a brick the whole length of the country. The colour and texture of your choice, for the lowest cost, is often dictated by your local soil type.

And whatever brick you decide upon do make sure it is frost resistant. Best to restrict your choice to 'brick paviours'.

Take a trundle round your local Travis Perkins or Jewsons - they should have pallets-full you can go and poke.

Go on a an diet of only cheese eggs and ribena concentrate.

You should get a free 'red brick' every three to four days.

Vary the ammount of ribena to get the desired shade of red.

If you don't like ribena just suck on a beetroot to achieve the same effect.

Builders Merchant here.

Where abouts in the South West are you?

I have a list of all BMF members in thhe area, if you'd like to ring me on 0115-941-2861, ask for Colin, I'll put you through to somebody that will be able to help you.

You'll need an FL quality brick, but saying "red brick" is like going into a sweet shop and asking for a bar of chocolate.
