Favourite Blue Peter squad.

I have to say, the current team are the best for a long time. Just watching the James Bond tribute on todays programme, very original kids TV. The team are dressed to kill and singing the theme tunes, really hamming it up. Did anyone see Matt Baker on his US tour? what a nice bloke, great stuff, and as for Konnie Huq, top Asian babe.

1st time I remember seeing a man cry, really sad. A really genuine bloke.
The BBC also shafted him when he left the show - first they told him he could keep Shep, then changed their mind.
Agree with the first trio (nostalgia!) but Konnie Huq certainly presses my buttons

You'll never beat the dream team of Noakes, Singleton and Purves though...
You've got to add Lesley Judd to that list for my perfect childhood memory. The two lads making fun of each other, the Judd for a bit of totty interest and Ms Singleton for the factual posh BBC moments.
Anyone ever wonder about her and Princess Anne going on safari together? Once I got old enough to think about it I've always thought there was a bit of something going on there.
John Noakes was £uckin' rock! Held the world civvy free-fall record after jumping out of a herc at 25000 ft...
Special mention to Simon Groom for the 'lovely pair of knockers' and 'the secret to a good lay is having a decent length to start with' gags. Apparently his mates bet him in the pub that he wouldn't come out with the double entendre stuff on air.

Don't forget Christopher Trace and his train set before Peter Purvert came along. Petra, Jason and some tortoise.
That's true - for two years it was just Christopher Trace and Valerie Singleton. Not until the Third Blue Peter Book did Mr Noakes appear (I have the evidence!)
Pets were Petra the Alsatian, Patch some sort of brown dog and Jason the Siamese cat. I think Fred the tortoise came later, and was renamed Freda when they realised it was female.
And later on they even adopted Daniel the Blue Peter baby... seems odd now doesn't it?
