Happy Saint David's Day to all my fellow Welsh folk and, indeed, all PHers wherever you may hail from!

Was just thinking about how I miss having St Davids Day in school. Was effecively an excuse to hang out in the hall and do nothing all day

I really want some Welsh Cakes or a nice Barabrith but the chances of me finding some in Wimbledon seem pretty slim!

Yep, we used to have an Eisteddfod in the morning, then go home in afternoon. Those were the days.

Welsh independence is something I could really vote for. It would be nice if we could tow it out into the middle of the Irish sea. Complete with a certain God like Chief Constable. (in his own eyes anyway)

Virtually none, I'd wager! I'm down in Brighton. Tried to get a daf yesterday, but the ones in the florists I tried hadn't bloomed yet, and they reckoned it would be 3 to 4 days before they "opened up".

So, since I couldn't wear my usual St David's Day daf, I decided to dispense with business dress and am in work in jeans and my Welsh rugby shirt. It's attracted a fair amount of comment, but still nobody has made the connection to St David's Day, so I'm getting a little weary of explaining to the 400th person now. Still have a smile on my face though.

I think we should go for independence too just in case the England rugby style starts to seep across the border - heaven forbid.

There should be a checkpoint to stop anyone wearing a white shirt and Barbour, and a "Tim Nice But Dim" demeanour, from entering. Checkpoint Charlliewch
