How many hours do you get in?

Apparently, some can survive on 4 hours a night. Personally, I have to get at least 7 which generally means going to bed at 11ish and getting up a 6am.

I can do a stint on PH well into the early hours but generally only at weekends.

But I do find that I need less sleep in the summer.

Do you reckon you can train yourself to not need as much sleep?

I was down to 4 to 5 hours in the RAF, whilst training. You do get used to it but it takes time. Any less than 4 hours and I think I would go nuts.

Now I am on 7 to 8 hrs a night.

9 hours a day here.

Something to do with being 'artistic'.

Or mad.

You choose.

Doesn't help that I have to be up at 0500 on a regular basis and cannot get to sleep before 0000.

At a ripe old age of 24, I need 7 hours nowadays. But I used to sleep 5 or 6 hours max when I was 17-18. I woke up naturally after that.

With years of alarm clocks I now can't wake up without help. I will sleep on and on if I don't set the alarm.

I'm a bit older than 24 but I think your pattern seems familiar.

She is our faithful puss called 'fudge'.

Strange creature really, you turn your back for 5 seconds and she appears in the most strange places.

After this picture was taken, I bent down to pick up my cup of tea, turned back round and there she was, up a ladder cleaning the upstairs windows. Odd.

About 4 hours, I used to sleep more during the day when I worked nights, although it was always short periods three times a day.

But then I crash for 12 hours about 3 times a year.

Can't do the clubbing all night quick shower, hours sleep on the coach then work all day, six times a week anymore

can't do it one night a week anymore.

For me it depends on how much I've done in the day. I've done 5-6 hours a night for a year or two and to be honest I performed at maybe 70% ability and had to lie in on the weekends.

Wish I could get by on so little as I resent the time wasted asleep.

I can get up just about any time I like, though I can only go to sleep effectively until after 12. In short, 8 hours are usual.

Loads, anything less than 8 and i really struggle to think properly the next afternoon. Remains of M.E. don't help things, but it's better than the 15-18 hours i used to need.

usually manage on 4 - 6 hours during the week, sometimes a bit more at the weekend. I can cat nap for half an hour if i feel really tired , then I'm ok for the rest of the day.

I can however sleep for 12 hours when exhausted!! (after 6 days working 20 hours a day for instance!)

I go through various phases of sleep requirements. Strange I know, sometimes just need to snatch an hour or two here or there. I think spending 8 weeks
cramming for my University exams every year for 4 years between the hours of 10pm and 6am when it was quiet really screwed my brain chemistry up. I went to the docs after and got some sleeping pills but it's never been the same since.

Sleeping pills are bad news though, a much better regimen is 5-HTP, melatonin and valerian root.
