Longest day at work.

Well I just did 7.30am to 8.30pm, which is a single job record for me (used to do 8.30am 10pm when I had two).

Whats the longest day you had a work?

I'm sure I'll have 12 hour shifts ahead.
Night shifts are 9pm-8am

I've done a 4.15am to 12.30am day before in my old job...

Done that 9 in the morning until 11 the next morning thing.


When we went to the Brussels Motor show we manged 4.30 am to 6.30 am the next day...mostly in the bar!

Whilst working on surveillance, 26 or 28 hour shifts did happen.

At Argos i once did 11am to 10pm (late night shopping before christmas). That was bloody hard as i don't even get to sit down.

I've done 8am-10pm at pharmacy...don't get to sit down there....infact I don't get to sit down in any of my jobs unless I'm driving!

5:30am to 9:30am the next morning after our Phone switch crashed and we had to rebuild the whole frikkin database from scratch (including tracing all the patches) !

A year or so ago I started about 815 in the morning and quit 1130 the next day: that's over 27 hours in a row.

Mostly 9 hours a day . . . Today I quit now: CT 2215 . . .

Bloody hell! I feel like a lazy bugger - longest I've ever done has been 10 hours.

Then again, that 10 hours was 2PM-Midnight outside the hell-hole that is Heaven & Hell (should just be called 'Hell') in Stockport, standing outside the railway station on a Saturday night in a flourescent orange top telling pissed-up chavs that they couldn't get a train and the replacement bus was late, all the while knowing my mates were in Cheadle Hulme 'spoons or the Hesketh (know 'em, pwig?) settling down to a pint or 5.

Only place where I had racist abuse from another white person who thought I was Italian.

Ah, the joys of Manpower student summer jobs!

36 hours. Computer crashed, chaos descended, I and one other were the only ones who remembered how to do things pre-computer.

Oh i know, i know a lovely girl at Southampton uni who has practicals every afternoon for about 3/4 hours, aswell as lectures in the morning and having to write up the report.

She always treats me like i'm thick, but i ask you, who's the idiot who does near 40 hours a week?

I think chemistry, along with maths and maybe, maybe physics is one of the hardest (intellectually) degrees. It's also one the most time demanding too. (excluding medicine i guess).

Still, its all good fun, and you get to set fire to stuff and do explosions too!
