Anyone know why my new plaster would be cracking as it dries? Too dry, too wet, air bubbles? Any possible remedies?

Drying too quickly. Make sure the wall is wetted before putting it on and keep wetting it as you trowel it up. Try to keep the temperature down.

Ditto that,
is the cracking in a square patten. If so then it's drying out to quickly, try killing the suction with the wall soaked and then spashing the surface of the plaster with a little water (with a 4" emulsion brush) during the trowling off/polishing process.

Excellent, that all sounds about right. Will keep the temp down and wet the walls.

put a little fairy liquid into the water when you knock up the plaster, it helps to retard the drying process, thus it will be less prone to cracking.
