THE family of a 74-year-old woman who died after allegedly being moved from a trauma room to accommodate a flu-stricken Michael Jackson says it will sue the hospital and the pop star.
The legal threat comes before Monday’s opening statements in Mr Jackson’s criminal trial on child abuse charges. The jury selection process was delayed by a week when the singer came down with flu.
Manuela Gomez Ruiz was being treated for a heart attack at the Marian Medical Centre, in Santa Maria, when she was allegedly moved out of a trauma room to make way for Mr Jackson. She died later that day. The hospital said it was confident in its levels of care, but could not comment on the case. A spokesman for Mr Jackson said that the pop star had delivered his condolences to the family, but the allocation of hospital rooms was beyond his authority and control.
Mrs Ruiz’s daughter-in-law, Anna Ruiz, said she saw Mr Jackson arrive. She said that her mother-in-law was taken off a ventilator and her breathing was manually assisted with a hand pump during the move. She had two more heart attacks that day before she died.
According to hospital records, Mr Jackson, 46, told emergency room staff that he had severe abdominal pains.

Bloody hell, can't really see why its MJ's fault though. If the hospital decided to put him their its the hospitals fault and if he demanded that room they should have told him to 
off.
Of course the cynical part of me thinks that perhaps the family saw the new resident was MJ and thought of the $$$.

This thread has upset me, I shall therefore sue PetrolTed for mental cruelty............
Mind you, the way some people behave just because someone 'famous' is patronising their establishment, I wouldn't be suprised if they lobbed all the ugly, smelly, ill people down the garbage chute so Jacko wouldn't be offended.
Actually, it's no wonder 'some' people think they're above certain laws when treated this way.

Somehow, jumping down the garbage chute seams more appealling than meeting M. Jackson
I can understand what happened. Suppose you are the hospital manager......
Michael Jackson's agent phones up and says Michael has flu and is coming to the hospital. He is going to come with the entourage.
Hospital Manager knows the guy is a clown. He knows there will be a load of hangers on and timewasters so he asks somebody to find a seriously big room to put said idiot in and said idiot's hangers on in there.

Answer - get idiot Jackson and hangers on into big room so move old biddy to another room.
Old biddy is moved, unfortunately dies, the estate sues everybody around.
I am sure that negligence was probably not an issue - she was probably likely to have met her maker anyway. Hospitals aren't that stupid.

Sorry, but I reckon you're dreaming if you think they won't move an old person in the NHS. They know old people find moving around traumatic, so its an easy way to dispatch them off.
Not saying that was the intention in my fathers case, but they moved him into a care home that I hadn't even been to see at that point, and it was a shock to me to see how traumatic that was for him. He died just a few days later. Just another coincidence, I guess.
