I am the proud owner of HPI Savage SS with S25 engine.

Now i have come to attention of truck bodies. i went to my local hobby store, and find the tamiya paint cans price shocking! its silly prices £5.00 for what it seemed like a 100ml can!

Is there any paint spray cans I can use from shop like wilksoen? or halford, or high street shops.
or is it specials paints.

a 25 engine, wow!

(we can do twin engine conversions for those trucks, using 2 25s for something like 400 quid not inc the truck and chassis!, or you can do a big block 35 upgrade for about 200 quid!)

as for the paints, I'm lead to believe anything that will stick to acrylic without needing a primer will work, so plastic paints really - and you have to spray from the inside of the shell otherwise it will just flake off the outside when you inevitably crash it into something hard!

(oh yeah, I work at halfords, forgot to say that - we stock the HPI paints at something like 3.99 a tin - or you can try the standard stuff but you *must* use paint that will stick to plastics!)

use the proper stuff and make sure you clean the shell well. I have tried using car stuff on rc car shells and it just flakes off the moment you hit the shell
