...become really quiet lately?

I know there is much more happening in the real world at the moment, but PH seems to have become really quiet this last week or so...

I noticed that too...

I suspect that these facts may not be unrelated:

1. Most people are on holiday at the moment.

2. A lot of people seem to spend more time PHing than working - try popping in at lunchtime on a weekday - the site is r e a l l y slow...

people on holiday have better things to do...

ah! lois summed it up much more eloquently!

Holidays. Some people think that spending time with their S/O's, family and relatives is more important that sitting in front of a CRT, writing to a bunch of people half-way around the world.

Sad, isn't it???

PH is mainly accessed by people at work so it's no surprise that it's quiet currently.

well you see, my folks got me a digibox for Christmas, so I headed into the loft on Christmas day to fiddle with the aerial, get covered in dust, flies and ended with no digital tv and very poor quality terrestial.

So I headed back into the loft tonight armed with a much bigger aerial (high gain, wideband) and now have no watchable tv what-so-ever. No digi tv, no terrestial and the original, small aerial is back up there.

Still, it's not entirely my fault - we live on a valley side and the masts we usually get signals from live in the dark ages and don't even transmit Channel 5, the only place round here that does in on the other side of the hill we are on - nigh on impossible to get a signal.

Still, back to basics I think!

edit:: point of this post (which I completely missed) was that I have nought better to do while trapped in my room for the night. Sigh!

I disagree, GG may have become quieter but that is because a lot of people now go to PP instead.

I wonder if the number of posts per day has gone up or down since the split of general gassing and Pie and Piston.

I'm thinking that the split has made T P&P a pathetic whingeing shop and GG boring.

Sticking things in boxes to be ticked is SOOOOOOO governmental.......what we need is more anarchy and a lively 'magazine style' mix.

GG has become what it set out to be, motoring related stuff. I found myself, alot of this stuff was getting lost and pushed down to page so and so very quickly with all the other non motoring threads.
I think it works better myself. But I am sure Ted is keeping a beady eye on it and if he feels its not woking he will change it.

Whinging threads shows how much was lost in GG Pie and Piston has highlighted that then... PHers are a load of Whingers

The magazine style mix is what you get when clicking the 'What's New?' button. Surely I'm not the only one to use this as an 'entrance' to the Gassing Station?

I was just thinking this myself, having tried to get through a few threads on Pie & Piston just now. I had to stop reading stuff, I was getting thoroughly pissed off and angry at the number of folks who feel the need to moan and winge on these forums. It would appear that if they catch a cold, stub a toe, or their car wont start, its somebodys fault.

Maybe Ted should create a bonafide 'Ranting, Moaning and Wingeing' forum for them all?
