But what will have happened to the Sealife? There must be a big gap now. I'm not an animal rights activist I'm just intereseted if anyone knows what would have went on down there. It's almost too scary to consider.

Condolences and best wishes to everyone this has affected. It really is very very shocking.

Sealife should be largely unaffected, except for what washed on shore in the tidal surge and remained there.

For instance, there was an American family scuba diving at the time, and the only thing they noticed was a sudden change on their depth gauges.

Their dive master signaled for them to surface, and when they did, only then did they notice the destruction.

The sea life in the area are in for a short term feeding bonanza.

Because there are going to be lots of scraps washed back into the ocean for the crabs etc to pick over. Nature is harsh, sometimes.

It's a good thing too, all that decomposing matter is going to harbour all sorts of diseases.
