Hi!!

Need to send an e mail to try and wind someone up. Problem is I need to pretend I am someone else in my company (someone much higher up) I have set up an e mail on Yahoo to send the mail. Person receiving will thing sender is sending from home so no problems there.

All I need to know is, can it be found out to be me??

How?? Is it easy?? I have suspicions my boss has closed work very early tonight. I was not allowed to close early yesterday on his say so, as he had to work late tonight. I want to send an email to work pretending to be senior management (at home) complaining of site being un contactable??

well for start off technically (i.e. using computers) it isn't to difficult at all for someone in the know - I can do it and I'm not an expert by any means (computing science student)!

But more importantly, technically means jack when there is a blatant trail (such as this) to the culprit and an obvious motive. For instance do you really think an employee let go early today would do such a thing. When he comes to you, starts interograting the staff after he's been made a fool of can you really keep a straight face/continue to lie? Why would someone high up send an email "from home" using a yahoo email accout? More likely he'd send it officially on Sunday/Monday/Wednesday (not on Christmas night at midnight)!

If you are concerned of the repurcusions, simply don't do it in the first place, especially when it's something like this which you can be caught so easily.

Yeah allright

Perhaps (after a few drinks) it really pisses me off, that someone who doesn't celebrate christams (practising Hindu) explains to me (practising christian) that I am unable to close my site early (allbeit by 2 hours) so I can get home to see my kids off to bed and then do thier stockings.....

.....because.....

....Head office will try and contact each site to ensure they are following company policy on opening hours....

.....and when I pass said site (which is in darkness and no visible staff) and try and contact by phone (contninual ringing) it is obvious the site is closed against company policy.

Barsteward.

oh of course, and that truly sucks on your behalf, but at least you had today off, there are plenty of people who had to work.

Could it not be your boss closed early to allow the staff that were working today (assuming there were some people who celebrated the holy event of Christmas not the cynical money making version) to go home?

I really wouldn't mate, you'll regret it in the morning if you do something fueled by drink I, as most blokes, know that one all to well (have you read Love Machines post from a couple of days ago )

Like I was last night, he would be working alone. No other staff to worry about.

I will refrain from sending an email, perhaps I will drop my findings into conversation with him as new years eve approaches

Cheers mate!!
