What a great one today! Had my Mum and Dad over, and a few friends who would otherwise have been alone over for lunch. I may have mentioned before on here that my wife is a great cook, but she really outdid herself this time. Perfectly cooked turkey, yorkshire puds, stuffing, mash, savoy cabagge etc. followed by M&S Christmas Pud and Vanilla Cream custurd.... absolutely fan-bloody-tastic.

I am sooo lucky to have a wife like mine

We had a top time.

Over at our place:

wife and 14 month son
brother, his wife, 25 month and 13 month sons
mother and steppy

Lots of presents for the boys and booze for the parents.

Top lunch cooked by my ace cook of a wife. 3 bird roast (pheasant in a chicken in a goose) with no bones so carving was a doddle. Fizz and wine before and during the meal. 14month pudding lit up well with the application of lots of hot whisky and eaten with a madera. Port and english cheese to finish.

I'm typing this with a final glass of wine before turning in for the night and reading Crap Cars as brought by Santa.

Had a brilliant one, despite the fact that me and my dad were cooking so food poisoning was a distinct possibility.

We had a four bird roast and once we'd worked out how to cook the blighter it was amazing.

Waiting for it to defrost I got an hours surfing in before lunch to build up an appetite.

As a starter we had some of the Sainsburys smoked salmon that old fat tongue advertises and gorgeous it was, nothing clever just some fresh lemon and cracked peppers.

All in all a good meal.

The bset xmas meal i've had yet! Bloody lovely, roast duck with all trimmings, fine wine, good freinds and all served up on a freinds yacht. The Hamble/Solent is at it's best this time of year! (None of the London navy around)

Snap! The only downside being that even the smallest goose is too big for just 2 people to eat in one sitting.

Goose curry anyone?

Lovely meal with wife two daugthers and mother Lobster Bisque soup, Turkey and Christmas pud washed down with copius amounts of Asti,Tia maria speciality Coffees. Spent the rest of the day polishing off a bottle of port, which seems to have prevented indigestion today
