A few years ago my wife dented her car and took it to the garage to be fixed. After a few days it was fixed and she went to pick it up. When she got home she said “it’s really clever the way they fix dents isn’t it?” I said “what makes you say that?” She went on to explain that when she picked the car up she asked the engineer how he’d managed to do such a good job, and he pointed to a hosepipe. The engineer then went on to explain that they put the hosepipe in the exhaust pipe and blow hard down it which rids the car of all dents – the same way a balloon is dead smooth.

I fell of my chair laughing and it took me ages to persuade her that he’d been winding her up.

It maybe just me, but it seems the fairer sex tends to be a little more gullible – anyone else got any ‘gullibility’ examples?

I have been driving a new Mitsubishi Colt after a girl in her first day of driving on her own ran into my L200 pickup (it is easy to miss, its only 16' long and black ).

It has a warning sound to tell you the handbrake is on, the alarm sounds exactly like the standard Nokia SMS tone.

I had my mum emptying the contents of her handbag onto the floor to find and answer her mobile as I drove along just riding the switch on the handbrake.

Must admit i am terribly gullable and tend to believe pretty much everything I am told, and yes I am of the fairer sex.

Really?

My uncle Billy had a ten-foot willy, and he showed it to the woman next door.
She thought it was a snake, so she hit it with a rake, and now it's only five feet four.

It's true, honest!

Convinced a girlfriend that my windscreen wipers were sound activated by timing the clicking of my fingers with the movement of the blades.

Then I said, "Now you have a go."

Folks - this thread's a bit pointless because they took the word "gullible" out of the dictionary in 2003.

you know something, I thought "did they" when I read this.

I've had a can of beer tonight, the second in some time now (I had the other last week). That is my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

yes well, it was a close one! Very nearly fell hook, line, sinker, hook which catches in the sludge and line that won't cut

But then again, it was only temporary, I was about to say normal service resumed, but then I'm not entirely sure what normal is anymore!

Once, whilst driving down the M5, i managed to convince my then squeeze that Cheddar Gorge was where they mined the cheese............took her a couple of minutes to figure out that Wookey Hole wasn't the family home of chewbacca and clan.............
