Well, I suppose its that time of year. But as usual in this day and age, any excuse to get a bit of publicity is used and low and behold, we get some stupid moron going on about Dan Browns Da Vinci Code....

Seems that this clergyman thinks that its the truth and that its a piece of historical literature.....

What actually is the issue here? - the article states that the bishop thinks the book isn't true - no surpise there then - so why do you castigate him ? - have you actually read the article you posted as a link ??!!
Having religious beliefs doesn't make someone a "moron" - being intolerant of others beliefs perhaps does.
(BTW - I hold no religious beliefs myself)

The point of this thread seems a bit muddled.
But I can tell you I've heard people banging on about how much of the "Da Vinci Code" is fact and how much is fiction...and they really do seem to think that more of it "fact" than is true.
ITS FICTION! Based in enough real locations and historical "facts" or "events" to lend it credence.
Personally I found it a bit dull - but OK. Passed the time. The wife loved it.
But it was a well-enough written pot-boiler for me to have a go at one of his other thrillers.
