Noticed this chap sells ID's from old cars

Nice and easy to nick and even easier to switch the ID. Surely people like this are as guilty as those that nick and ring the cars!

Not sure what the legality is - but looks a bit dodgy anyhow.

To be fair most of the documents seem to be for much older cars and while it certainly seems questionable and im sure he is breaking ebays rules, if not a law, it doesnt seem as bad as flogging identities for popular, modern cars.

Unless you own/cherish your older toy car and some pond life nicks it, which isn't going to be difficult is it? a lollypop stick will see you inside most of these cars. Pond life then rings it and sells it from his car lot on the A1. Original owner never sees their P&J again.

No difference in my opinion

Damn right. In the case of older TVRs, say, it's hard enough keeping track of who's done what to which, and what reg. plate a car has (my last one had had 7 plates!), so how would you spot the ringer?
