Does anyone else have a problem with their body clocks whan they break up for holidays?

I normally get up at 6am for work, so there I was this morning 6am wide awake, I'm not the kind of person to just fall asleep again, even if I go to bed at 1am, I'll be awake at 6am.
Wouldnt mind so much if the mornings were lighter

Any remedies?

I wish I knew - I have exactly the same problem, takes me a fortnight holiday to adjust to getting up later - then of course a fortnight after I'm back, to get up on time again.

I do shifts between 8am and 7pm, not particularly anti-social, I know, but it completely screws up my body clock because one week I have to get up at 5.30am and the next week I don't have to get up till 9am.

Thought I'd get an early night last night because I was feeling a bit knackered, guess what? I woke up at 5:30am when I only have to get up by 8 at the very earliest seeing as I live in the city and walk to work. Bummer!

Valid point, but I reckon my employer would think it rather strange having a contractor that turned up to work at 6am for a 9am start

Phew, I thought I was going to find a load of thirty somethings discussing re-runs of Friends and worrying that their wombs aren't getting any younger

I seem to have developed the uncanny ability to sleep in till 12:00 if I forget to set my alarm on a workday, then at the weekend when I can sleep in late, I wake at 8:00 sharp and cant get back to sleep. Stupid body clock

I find this. I normally get up at 5.30 for work. (in fact I usually wake up about 5.20. Grrrr, another 10 mins, dammit!!) When I'm off, I often find that I will still wake up around the same time. It's automatic. However, I can usually manage to go to sleep again afterward.

Who else finds that on a weekday, they actually wake up approximately two minutes before the alarm goes off?

It's usually about 20 mins for me - just long enough to make it not worth trying to get back to sleep again.

Either that or you wake up needing the loo really badly and you know that you won't get back to sleep again unless you go...

Mine is all to hell. Bed at 2 and up at 12. Not good. That's mainly due to my rock star lifestyle. Sadly, the rest of the family go to bed at 1/2 8 and are up about 5.......they're also noisy.
