Just received this greeting from an Italian business associate: looks pretty and sounds very sexy, but I'm jiggered if I know what it means.

Any ideas - Google's translation wasn't much help.

A
chi
ama
dormire
ma si sveglia
sempre di buon
umore. A chi saluta
ancora con un bacio. A
chi lavora molto e si diverte di
più. A chi va di fretta in auto, ma
non suona ai semafori. A chi arriva
in ritardo ma non cerca scuse. A chi spegne
la televisione per fare due chiacchiere. A chi è
felice il doppio quando fa a metà. A chi si alza presto
per aiutare un amico. A chi ha l'entusiasmo di un bambino
ma pensieri da uomo. A chi vede nero solo quando è buio.
A chi non aspetta Natale

per essere
più buono
Auguri

Buon Natale e Felice 2005

Happy Christmas

Cheers Steve: Happy Christmas to you as well.

It wasn't only the blaaaat I missed: I was booked on a trackday the following day that I also had to miss.

Oh well, the work has to keep me in the optimax and car manner to which I have become accustomed.

Hmm, this is babelfish's (rather poor) effort

To who it loves to always sleep but wide awake of the good humor. To who it still greets with a kiss. To who it works very and it is amused more. To who it goes of haste in car, but not sound to the semafori. To who it arrives in delay but it does not try excuses. To who it extinguishes the television in order to make two to chiacchiere. To who the double quantity when ago to half is happy. To who it is raised soon in order to help a friend. To who it has l'entusiasmo of a child but thoughts from man. To who it only sees black when it is buio. To who it does not wait for Been born them for to be better Auguries Good Happy NATO them and 2005

It says.

At this time of year, many years ago a child was born, of simple stock. He was popular and well liked by all in his early days but became more famous to many as a holy man and deeply religeous spiritual person, some might say a child of god. He worked tirelessly spreading the word of god to many thousands through his open air meetings. Through his words, recorded for posterity for those in the future to hear once again he gained ridicule and contemptment by the empowered establishment but was always quick to praise his faith and forgive those who ridiculed him. And in 1995 he was given a knighthood to become Sir Cliff Richard.

It says; "To those who love to sleep but wake up always with good humour. To those who still welcome with a kiss. To those who work hard but who have more fun. To those who rush in their cars but don't sound the horn at the traffic lights. To those who arrive late but don't make excuses. To those who turn the tv off to chat. To those who are happy when things don't turn out right. To those who wake up early to help a friend. To those who have the enthusiasm of a young boy but the responsibilities of a man. To those who see black only when it's night. To those who don't wait for Xmas to be good. Best wishes. Merry Xmas and a happy 2005."

Top stuff Riccardo: that's really rather nice, isn't it.

Now, why can't all Christmas cards have such a thought-provoking message in them.
