Did anyone see cops, robbers and videotape last night and wonder why people with 102 convictions for burglary etc. are still polluting our streets?

I was particularly fond of the guy breaking into a 93 year old blokes house and threatening to kill him with a knife in order to nick enough gear to pay for a fix.(46 year old who has spent 30 years inside FFS)

And they wonder why people are going vigilante!!

nnngggg ggggrrrrr must not get mad

A good case for a '3 strikes and you're out' system. Serial offenders are NOT going to change so should be taken out of the system - and made to improve it by hard labour (meaning compulsory hard work - not Bliar in a studded leather jacket ).

I thought it was incredible too. Sat watching it in utter disbelief! The criminals featured were the lowest of the low, showed only contempt and complete disregard for others, the police and the courts - they even admitted that they would re-offend and never change. I was expecting the older criminals to be able to play the system but I was surprised by the 14 year old and his ability to 'play' the Police, they themselves admitting that there was nothing that they could do and could only be reactive.

As for the scrote (with a criminal record that you would need a demolish a rainforest to print)who threatened the 90 something year old, I would seriously advocate throwing away the key..what a ct

I watched this, could not belive it.

There was another program dealing with social services in Bristol and some young parents found it odd that their child was taken away when they found the flat was storing containers of piss and shite!!!!!! over 200 of them.

The the mother gets well pissy with the social worker, claims she is a money grabbing b#tch so she has to go and have a fag to calm down, and the tabacco was payed for by who I wonder.....

With all the problems this country currently faces you have to wonder how fox hunting ever found any parliamentary time.

What do those muppets think they are playing at?

Yet get caught doing 140mph in the dead of night on an empty bit of motorway without harming anyone, and you're guaranteed a spell at one of HM's finest holiday camps, regardless of you never having commited another crime in your life...

Just to veer off track a bit, I know a few BiB, and the worst thing for them is the fact that when they do catch people, they tend to get a slap on the wrist and let go FFS.

Bring back the birch and all the rest of it, teach this scum a lesson.

I am thoroughly Fd off with the namby pamy liberals who allow this filth to roam free blaming everything on a persons upbringing etc.

Hit 'em hard early and put the little wrs off, if that don't work, 3 strikes and out is the way to go.

Rant over

Granted, it's an old-fashioned, conservative viewpoint - but when did this explosion of crime among young people occur?

Why would anyone be scared of going out and mugging you/breaking into your house/stealing your car/tagging your property today? There is a culture where consequences are all but meaningless, especially for children. Certainly inflicting pain is never going to return to the justice system, but there does need to be a real deterrent, as those children who were given adventure holidays and other ridiculous 'punishments' 5-10 years ago are becoming parents themselves.

My parents kept me in line with a slap round the bum when I was a child, taught me right from wrong and I'm extremely grateful for it. Today we have an entire culture of poor parenting that does not teach morals effectively. Even those children who are fortunate to have a decent upbringing are at risk of being corrupted by their less fortunate friends.

What's your answer to this issue birdbrain?

I don't disagree, so don't get your knickers in a twist. I just thought the phrase "bring back the birch" was reminiscent of purple-nosed Tory old boys sitting in their gentlemen's club knocking back brandy and cigars and complaining about the youth of today.

A good hiding is what that Kid needed, and its all down to the parents.

The parents should be punished, three strikes and throw them out of the Council house!

Was supposed to be slightly tongue in cheek Birdbrain. However, I strongly believe that something needs to be done in society as a whole.

We have schools where teachers cannot control their pupils 'cos they are not allowed to instil any sort of discipline, and now they are attempting to take away the rights of parents as well. I have a two year old, and when she is naughty she gets a slap on the hand or the bum. Why is this wrong? How else do you learn?

We have to differentiate between discipline and abuse, but there is a big difference between a flat handed slap and a punch (for example).

I went to a private school where slipper etc was still allowed at that time. I got it once-and never did it again. What is wrong with that?

These little t055ers do it because they know they will get away with it, so it's time we made sure that they don't.

By the way, I am only 29, so it is not a generation based thing!!
