Odds on for a white Christmas!
Discussion
LONDON (Reuters) - For the first time in more than 25 years, William Hill bookmakers believe the chances of a white Christmas are odds-on.
"It has been a long while since there's been odds-on for there to be snow," said spokeswoman Jennie Prest.
Northerners are most likely to see snow with Aberdeen's odds at 1-2. Cardiff is at 11-4 while London is currently at 12-5.
On a more official note, the Met Office said it is fairly likely that most Britons will see at least a sprinkling of snow on Christmas Day.
"It's pretty much on the cards but the difficulty is in the amount," said spokesman Barry Gromett on Tuesday. "The Christmas weekend will be chilly and bright, with snow showers coming along and giving us some proper festive weather."
