Amazon "Fulfilment Centre" my arse

Ordered something from Amazon on Friday, paid extra for delivery by Monday, and apparantly it hasn't even left their "Fulfilment Centre".
That's the last time they get any money from me.
I've actually found Amazon to be one of the few helpful companies when things go wrong. Like when the wrong stuff turns up/stuff doesn't turn up at all and they just ship it again without any hassle.
But we all get it wrong some times. Sorry your stuff's not turned up.

I spoke to them yesterday and they "assured" me it would be going out that afternoon. Apparantly it is being "wrapped" at the moment but they can't even guarantee it will go out today. So I said if it does not go out today I will cancel the order tomorrow and go and buy it somewhere else. Which is a pain I know, as they were considerably cheaper. Oh well...

Its unusual for amazon. My dealings with them have always been very good. Then again at this time of year the best distribution system must become a little frayed. Hope you get your stuff in time (one way or another)
This is what I had heard. Mine is one of "40" packages they are having "problems" with. Sod's Law that I am one of those 40!!!
I think the trouble is that we are at the point where true volume online shopping is just really taking off.
Vendors are therefore getting caught out by the year-on-year increase in volume. It's the same with most "new" ways of doing things - it takes a while to get it all settled.
Not that that makes you feel any better when you're one of the ones that gets the wrong side of it.
(Just to rub salt in the wounds, I ordered something late Monday night and it was on my desk waiting for me this morning!)

I am very happy with the service from Amazon. I have never received the wrong item by mistake or a damaged item, and as for delivery times I always go for their free delivery option these days, which takes longer.
It is quite impressive that nothing has ever gone wrong because I have bought alot of items from them (it's where I do most of my DVD, Books and Computer Games shopping)
One thing I really like about Amazon is the extras they offer. Often they will have a review of a DVD or book and then their are customer reviews as well. Which is often a big help in deciding what to buy.

I actually got caught out by Amazon being too good this weekend.
Ordered a present saturday afternoon, about an hour or so later decided it was too much money to spend, so tried to change the order. It was already dispatched!
Arrived first thing monday morning.
I ordered something from them last week. Item stated availability 24 hours. So I assumed it would be shipped next day. Three days later it's still not shipped so I email them. Amazingly it is dispatched within 2 hours of my email. Then receive another email saying they'll refund my postage costs because of the delay Received the item a couple of days later.

Yes, they have kindly offered to refund me the postage as well. I sent them an email yesterday. I got a reply today with the option of choosing "Yes" or "No" to the comment "Please let us know if we resolved your enquiry."
I have ordered several things through Amazon this year and just contemplating ordering something else. Don;t need it by Christmas but do need it for New Years Day. Bought my wife the new Delia Smith book for Xmas through Amazon, she now thinks her Mum would like it for Xmas, so plan to give her Mum the copy I bought for her, and buy a new one for her which I'll give to her on her birthday on News Year Eve.
However don;t mention Early Learning Centre as still awaiting delivery of goodies ordered on 11th December with delivery promised by the 17th!
