How legal is this, I guess the seller can do what he likes?

Who would nick and ring a 1980 Escort? Am I missing something?

Aside from ebay's rules, is it illegal to sell the identity of a car if you own it?

It sounds a bit like BMW/VW with VW buying Rolls Royce, but not ownership of the Rolls Royce name.

An original MK2 Harrier in mint condition would be worth alot of money as it will be quite rare and to have the paperwork would make a sale alot easier.

a child could steal a mark2 escort with a pen knife, and they are one of the easiest cars around to 'ring' even new vin tags are available mail order, bit of coke to distress them, few will have the original engine in anyway now, and the stamping on the floor is the same as the standard sets freely available for peanuts,

Ebay could do with a right "leagal reaming for this"its outrageous.

got a plan, I wonder if I apply for the log book for that Testarossa vinplate in my garage, n have a word with Charlie Brocket?

TBH a 1600 sport is just as good, and in most cases a straight shell is only really useful so that you can make an RS2000 or RS1800 rally car.
