...that we're very nearly halfway through the decade? Where the hell did that go? Seems like only a short while ago everyone was running around like headless chickens worrying about the aftermath of Y2K. Does time speed up as you get older or something?

The current thinking on this matter is that we experience time simply as a series of events. A good example is a schoolchild on Summer holiday versus an adult on the dole.
The child spends all day playing, doing lots of different activities and each day seems to last forever whereas the 'doley' spends all day doing nothing (except watching TV) and the hours seem to rush by.

[]I thought it was because of the relative length of a year compared to your age. A year for a ten year old is 10% of their life experience, but for a 50 year old it's only 2%. So time seems to speed up as you age[/]

Reminds me n that quote in Deep Blue Sea "Einstein's theory of relativity. Grab hold of a hot pan, second can seem like an hour. Put your hands on a hot woman, an hour can seem like a second. It's all relative."

Yep, time has gone very fast. Y2K and I had just started Uni. End of 2004, I've finished Uni, graduated, met a girl, stayed with said girl for over 3 years worked as a Sports Centre Manager and Swimming Teacher, worked as a race car modeller for PS2 and X Box games, bought a TVR, got my own flat, moved out of said flat and quit the job. i remember 2000 like it was yesterday. 2 more years and it's all over. I'll be old. 7 more and I'm practically a pensioner!

The turbocharger of life kicks in at 35 - time shoots by from then on... years become months, days go by without you noticing. It's like I'm sat in a time machine, watching the seasons change...

I'm 40 in January, still wondering when I'll grow up...
