Recently I was in Uganda in the Northern region to see the crisis that is there. 1,000,000 refugees are displaced due to a civil war between the L.R.A (Lords Resistance Army) and the UPDF (Ugandan Peoples' Defence Force). Well the images speak for themselves I'll upload more when I can. Makes me feel guilty just coming home and resting knowing kids out there are straving and dying, due to dieases we conquered years ago (cholera, diaheorra etc.) Well this was a motiovation for Band/semi-live Aid this year so give generously if you want to make some peoples lives better this Christmas.

All well n good - Band aid raised and used circa £250 mill 20 years ago - and for what?

Look at it in a non "think of the children" mood and all that has happened in Ethopia is that now instead of 7 million people in trouble, there are 14 million....

Short term aid does nothing to fix the underlying fact that there are just too many people trying to scratch a living from land that just CANNOT support that level of population. If you want to help, then campaign to get regime change/stop the inter-tribal massacres and ethnic cleansing that causes these massive refugee problems, then work on fixing the infrastructure, then, and only then, can you look towards a time when this sort of problem will be solved.

Even Geldof admitted that Band-Aid was just that, a short-term fix.

You have a picture of a bomber in your profile. Why's that?
