Good grief.

There are no limits to what some people are capable of.

possibly a case of life imitating art.

Watched an episode of CSI a few weeks ago and the story was of a violent man who murdered a pregnant woman then cut the baby out with a hunting knife and gave it to his sister

A lot of it seems to be our 'care in the community' failing with spectacular regularity. I used to get pished with the Director of Rampton, it is frighteneing what happens when it all goes pear shaped in the human mind

A friend of mine who lives in Bristol told me about something she's heard on the news earlier.

A woman had told the father of her unborn child that she was pregnant. The story goes that he then went round and repeatedly punched the woman in the stomach with her being 21 weeks along (what's that? 5 months??) I think time went on and she gave birth to her dead baby.

I didn't really get the whole story but I think that was the jist of it.

This sort of stuff brings a whole new meaning to the word "sick".

I am speachless at the sheer horror of this. I'm playing in the front room with My little boy with very misty eyes.

I just can't believe the sheer horror of this

What I can't beleive- apart from this horrid, wicked act of violence, is that on the front of the paper I'm producing tonight, is about some plonker having his Aston forcibly sold, and this story is on page 20 iirc, ffs put it on the goddamn front- muppetts.

I just can't beleive this (the crime, not the sodding paper), this is the second in two weeks.

This used to be a sport in medievil England btw.

Gotta go, got trash to produce...

have you seen the front page of the sun? an equally crap and meaningless headline about the b*ckhams buying a facking toy for their feckless offspring ffs bl00dy tabloids...no feck that, bl00dy newspapers

This ist appalling ... that poor family und that poor child ... to grow up not knowing its Mama und he or she will eventually find out how she died und how he orwas born into this world.

One hopes that he will receive the kind of stable nurturing to prevent festering of wounds...und I know what i am on about as now long term foster Mama of two children from disturbed backgrounds - both victims of different kinds of abuse.

I heard this on the telly - the baby's been found safe and well (astonishingly).

Was I the only one who immediately thought of the Tarrantino movie "Kill Bill"?

The couple have been arrested. The women appears to have been the one who used the knife on the pregnant woman. The police took the baby immdediately to an incubator in a hospital. It has survived so far. More news when I get it.

One news report on UK tv has alleged that the woman believed responsible had suffered a miscarrige earlier in her life and the police are suggesting that may be a motive.

So far though, they only talk of charges for kidnapping
what about the MURDER?

I sometimes wonder about the state of this planet!

I agree entirely.
Children are our future and a child ,foetus, baby is a beautiful untouched life.
Anyone who takes that away is truley evil.
May they rot in hell...

Crimes against pregnant women are particularly heinous.

Repulsive.

Not just America where babies are treated so badly

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/northern_ireland/4107555.stm

luckily this one was not harmed but being thrown from a moving car could have been much, much worse

No, she was charged with Kidnapping AND Murder, a death sentance punishable offence, but only if she pleads not guilty and loses.

Apparently the husband was not involved, and the wife just turned up with the baby she claimed she had just had.

If she has confessed, then its either life in jail, or she will claim insanity.

Yes, that's the latest update. The woman has "confessed." She allegedly strangled the mother and cut her open.

Diabolical.
Diabolical is exactly the word. It is hard to imagine just how twisted someone would have to be to commit a crime of this nature. Truly evil.
