I just realised that just about everyone I know thinks I'm a touch weird for enjoying my cereal in a some what soggy state???!!! My parents, my brother, my girlfriend, my mates??? Why o why o why!
Surely I cannot be the only person to enjoy breakfast this way?
Can i?

Yuck, I race to eat mine before it goes soggy. Sometimes I even tip the bowl on edge to keep more of the cereal dry for longer.

For me it depends on the cerial

Shreddies - they have to be soggy to the point where a small tap of the bowl would render the contents an unidentifiable (but nice tasting) mush.

Wheetabix - Also soggy, but to the point where it already is an unidentifiable mush.

(as a side note, i find combinging shreddy mush and wheetabix mush into one, makes an unexpectedly nice breakfast )

Almost everything else - Must be damp, but not soggy.

shame, that reminds me when i was on a holday with the lads (just finshed A-levels) We went to Tenerife and was on a boat with the 18-30's gang. The reps pulled 3 guys out of the crowd to play some games. It started off easy like knocking back a pint and then some shooters, and then licking off cream for some poor bird that was shoved to the front as a volenteer.
then they got the guys to eat 3 dry weetabix 2 were fine, mouth a bit dry, but one looked like he was struggling. Then he tried to get it out of his mouth, but as his mouth was dry he was having problems. Luckly the reps knew what to do with getting dried weetabix out of his mouth and that they knew how to perform the hemlickmonover (sp?) poor guy wasn't very happy for the rest of that day wven with free alcohol.

Is it wrong to laugh at someone elses expense?

Eeeew. My dad soaks his cereal before eating it.

I prefer to put on as little milk as possible and add more as it runs out, all in the name of keeping the cereal as crunchy as possible.

Same goes for w/bix - minimum amount on the one currently being consumed; others pushed up the sides of the bowl to keep dry! (MrsV6 thinks I'm a bit weird for that one...)

LOL. From the packet, dipped into a mug of tea if available.

Why?

3 Weetabix, loads of milk and sugar. Wait a couple of minutes and consume the resultant mush

Shreddies. They call them Shreddies because that’s what they do to the roof of your mouth if you try to eat them to soon.

I used to love the original Golden Nuggets. They could be dangerous if eaten before they softened.

I am sure I once read that the tour cyclists have their muesli soaked overnight so that the stomach can assimilate it more quickly.

Weetabix -- sit down in living room with TV on. Get 3 or 4 bixes and, with heaped spoonful of sugar, drown in milk. Carpet the bix in sugar and wolf down. Crispy but damp.
Corn Flakes --- make as normal and put in fridge making sure that the milk only goes 75% of the way up bowl. About half an hour later cover in sugar and enjoy the crispy top with soggy underside.
Best if you have the dust from the bottom of the packet too.

Another fave of mine is cornflakes and weetabix topped with a sprinkling of muesli and then a spoonful of honey dripped over the lot. Fan-effing-tastic. Easily the best meal of the day.

Got to say cereal cocktails are a winner - keeps your tastebuds guessing. Another 'sure-fire-winner-can't-wait-for-the-alarm' is 2 Weetabix combined with Shreddies and All Bran. Pour on the boiling water and milk and mix together until it has the consistency of mush. Belting, although with the effect that it has on you you may as well miss out the middle man and throw it straight down the toilet

Soggy cereal makes me

When I was a kid I used to eat my Weetabix by crushing it all up and mixing in a load of sugar. I'd then eat this dry powder

Don't eat cereal, or breakfast, or lunch. 1 meal a day for me.
