They have to have an Iron content to work properly, mine are made by a comapny called JUDGE.

Most high street shops have them....well a few anyway, but just look at the coded labels.

Copper, alluminium and normal stainless will not work, in fact my hob will not recognise a pot has been placed on it if it isn't the proper type.

Our pots for a 6 set IIRC were in the region of £200.

They usually have a symbol which looks like a spring shaped coil of wire somewhere on the pan or packaging if they are suitable for induction.

Don't buy woks without a good thick base as they warp.

Best type of hob IMHO

As previously said, check the packaging.

If there is no info on the packaging, or if in doubt test the pans with a magnet, if it doesnt stick, it probably wont work.

Induction hobs, all the speed of gas, with none of the drawbacks, instant on instant off, no slowdown to simmer, turned from flat out to simmer, bang its done. Blooming marvelous, I wouldn't have any other hob now.
