FFS pwig, a little more detail please?
And what's the Marconi cup? some sort of weird dessert in an Indian?

Time to watch that paint dry
US PHers should look away.
Is that ridiculous Yankee pillock playing again this year? Earl "the Pearl" something or the other. He went absolutely berserk a couple of years ago, behaving like a spoilt 12 year old and hurling abuse at the highly amused crowd, who seized the opportunity to wind him up almost to bursting point!

Earl Strickland....great pool player, but a complete tw*t of the highest order. His antics last year (and that of several of the US team, it must be said) really spoiled the event for me.
Fantastic player he undoubtedly is, but my respect for him vanished a few years ago when he won (I think) the World 9 ball Masters final against Francisco Bustamente, who had suffered the death of his baby daughter during the tournament but couldn't get a flight home, so played on, won his semi final and then narrowing lost to Strickland in the final. Strickland's reaction to winning, bearing in mind the loss suffered by Bustamente? Jumping on the table and shouting about how he was champion....
As much as I love the game, there seems to be a bit too
much of an effort to turn the crowd into football hooligans. That's on both sides as well - loads of pointless chanting and whooping like they're on the Jerry Springer show. Just shut up and watch the game!

Earl "The Pearl" or Earl "The Girl" as he's known in the UK is a whinging twat.
The lovely Michaela put him in his place last year as I recall.

I liked it when Davis shut him out 5-0. That was highly amusing.
I do like watching 9 ball, but Sky/Barry Hearn seem to want to turn it into pro wrestling...everyone has to have a quirky nickname. Why, for crying out loud?!
