Couple of weeks ago I had a letter about having the MMR jab again due to an increase in mumps, especially in uni's.
Went to doctors today just to inquire as I think I already had two but they ended up doing it there and then!!

Is it just my area (north west) or is it a national thing?

There have been one or two problems at my uni but no-one's sent any letter round or anything.

I'm not a student, but friends that are, and around this area (Kent) have not had a letter.

Although - I was in the doctors surgery earlier in the week and they did have a sign up about it I think, suggesting to "ask your doctor".

Supposedly there has been a big outbreak in the London Universities (according to the metro). I'm not worried - I am not a student and extremely unlikely to be kissed by any

Actually Flashman, I hear you are a lawyer in lovely London(though your profile says you are based here in Hampshire!). I was just wondering if I could email you offline and ask you about city law firms.

'course you can. The Hampshire thing is a mistake - have moved to the big smoke now. Feel free to e-mail and ask away!

IIRC it's for people born between a certain date who aren't vaccinated (1983-1990 or something similar).

I definately had one in 1989 and I thought I'd had one in primary school around 1991/2 but they said it may only have been MR...so stabbed me anyway! Plus they wanted to give me the flu jab in the other arm!
