Arrived at office this morning, only to find car park containing around 10 carvans/vans, etc.
Now, I've have had a couple of run-in's which these type before and recall them having a complete disregard for others property.
The police reckon it will take a couple of weeks at the least to get them shifted.
I've only just got the car back & don't want it damaging

Not my office, but one of my clients, who I happen to work for (in thier office a couple of days a week).
Private property. Do they care ?
can you just lock up the car park so they cant do anything then if its private? althouh that kindof defeats the object of getting them out i suppose! or fill the car park with rabid dogs or something
Whatever you do, DONT do this:
Purchase some 'event' fireworks, find a good vantage point and wait for nighttime to descend.
The heavy duty rockets will be more than a match for those silver clad caravans and as they can be launched from about half a mile, would easily give you enough time to depart in safety.
I repeat, DO NOT do this.

is it your offices car park? surely thats private property if so?
Sadly, the Pikies don't give a shit and the council and police will do all about it.
There was a story in the press yesterday about a couple who built a wendy house in their garden for their kids. Apparantly it was 12 feet too far from the house and thus fell into some kind of restricted-planning area of their garden (??) so the council are demanding they take it down.
At the bottom of their garden is some open space which has been significantly developed by a gang of pikies (BIG wooden buildings, hundreds of pikievans etc.) with NO planning permission on someone elses land. Will the council do anything about that? Of course not.
Had some of these filthy buggers move into my old office car park. It took at least two before they moved on. Trouble is they left all their litter and half a dozen chickens behind.
I was very wary of parking there. There were about half a dozen kids, of different ages, running amock all day, hurling sticks and stones about. I glanced out of my window on one occasion a one of them was taking a dump in the corner of the car park!

We often get them in a field near us. They nick from asda (can tell by the accent who they are!).
They leave a total mess behind when they're gone...dirty nappies lying around, scraps of carpet and bags of rubbish.
They have viscious dogs too (not good when its a nice path where many people walk their dogs or walk to work.

Had a debate about Gypsies in a seminar yesterday. The lentilists said I was 'racist' (huh?) for saying that they shouldn't be allowed to pitch up anywhere, and that I should call them travellers.
Usual cloistered, theoretical small-town-big-world person.
Undermined her immediately with 'would you let them park on your drive and light a brazier in your garden?'
She just did the usual lentilist 'OMG I think you are so wrong and you've frustrated me into a corner' face, but couldn't come up with anything in reply.
Set aside public wasteland miles from anywhere for them, but if it's private property, or even contains private property, I'm sorry, but they've got no right to be there.

The answer is that living and travelling in Caravans needs to be made illegal.
Do that and they will soon bugger off back to Ireland where most of them come from anyway.
I can't really understand why successive Governments have failed to tackle these parasites. It's not as if it would be a vote loser is it? And I doubt very much if Pikies vote anyhow...as they don't contribute to society in any other ways.

What a horrendous racial stereotype she was spouting there. Did you ask her why she felt it necessary to generalise that all people in caravans must be of a different race?

On the contrary, I think the political party that has the guts to stick two fingers up at the PC groups that campaign for these people will gain tremendous support.
Unfortunately debates about them are always turned into a racial issue which is quite absurd. I wouldn't like a black, white, yellow or any other colour pikey living near me. They're universally disliked because they're takers who want to get anything they can without giving anything back, their race and colour is absolutely irrelevant.

Don't worry though once it's they have to work for a living, and it's their taxes supporting these 'travellers', they will start to change their views.
Problem is, they don't get rid of the ideologies as they go and work for charities, pressure groups, political parties - even PR offices - can allow them to keep banging out the same old rubbish.
With people like that getting jobs like that, and fewer and fewer people voting, I'm rather worried that these people will end up in power before we know it. I've still yet to account for the success of the Liberal Democrats, seeing as though they are all a bunch of university-indoctrinated theoretical loonies who jump on every 'populist' bandwagon, yet never actually do anything anyone actually wants.
That is an interesting feature of the current explosion of public sector spending under labour. Of the extra public sector workers hired most have not been 'front-line' workers Teachers, police etc but adminstrators. The cynical might think that they were trying to expand their 'payroll' vote.
