Many of my friends (and family, come to that) often pull my leg because I regularly recall, or develop, ‘quotations’ – simple truths. A few which I often quote include:

“He who has no enemies has no character”.
“The road of good ideas is littered with corpses”.
“I’d rather be slow and modest, than clever and arrogant”.
“Live dangerously and be honest with employees”.

Anyone else got any quotations which they regularly quote or ponder?

I know a variant of this:

“Fortunate is the man who gains pleasure from the poor”

"Your Utopia is only an opinion. It is someone else's nightmare"

"There are some things in life you can win or lose. Fights aren't one of them"

"Quality over quantity in everything"

All ones I come up with at times.

One of my favourite books is as a man thinketh by James Allen, I have a hard copy but you can get it from here for free if you wish to read it.

I also like pretty much anything from Napleon Hill.

-Whatever the mind of a man can conceive, and believe, it can achieve

-There are no limitations to the mind except, those we acknowledge

If you think you are beaten, you are
If you think you dare not, you dont
If you like to win, but think you cant
It is almost certain you wont

If you think you'll lose, you have lost
For out in the world, we find
Success begins with a fellows will
Its all in a state of mind

If you think you are outclassed, you are
You have got to think high to rise

Lifes battles don't always go to the stonger or faster man
But sooner or later the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can.

What nonsense, clever and arrogant is the only way!

My favourite quote has to be:

"You don't win friends with salad."

Fooking superb.

Two that have meaning for me:

"Far better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove any trace of doubt".

and

"Accuracy is a duty; not a virtue".
