Just had John Snow on the television saying that Blunkett has cancelled a photo call and that his position in the government is getting worse. There is a possibility he may be gone by 7. I know what I want for Christmas.

BBC confirms he is expected to resign - possibly within minutes.

Fleet street has been invited to the Home Office. Looks like he's off. What an utter, utter, prat. What did he think was going to happen if slagged off Jack Straw, Prescot and the rest in an autobiography ... to be published while they were still all in office??

Today is an excellent day for civil liberties and all our freedoms.

Good riddance to bad rubbish. Right, time to set about the rest of the feckers!

HURRAH!!!

I just hope the electorate don't turn around and say "well, he's gone, so Labour can't be that bad" and vote them in again. I was kind of hoping there would be a whitewash, and he would stubbornly cling on for the next election to do the most damage. Oh well.

Who do you think will be the new home secretary then? Fiver says John 'odd-job man' Reid.

I'm sure Tony will find an avenue for him to return once the dust has settled.

Best new I've had in a long time!!

And don't forget, Tony B-Liar said that he supports Blunderkit completely. So if Blunderkit has abused his power, and B-Liar supports him, what does that say about Mr B-Liar then?
