DFS are doing a few now, and you get 100 years to pay at 0%. But you have to put up with Linda Barker

Be careful with DFS - I bought a sofa from them for £1500. 2 months later I saw the exact same sofa advertised on the tv for £499... I was still paying off my credit card at the time

Or just wait till the sales.
In the recent DFS sale everything had at least half off.

Hopefully that only means you only get half of Linda Barker too!
(the non talking bottom half of course)

Doh! the only reason it was on sale at a made up regular retail price is because it HAS to be for a certain period of time for it to be legitimately offered at a SALE price later on. But their whole ethos and costings etc are configured around selling stuff at SALE price. They dont actually intend to sell at RRP. I went to DFS in Darley Dale and a member of staff told me this when I expressed an interest in full price goods. Also I didnt want the zero percent finance deferred for a year so asked for an amount equivalent to the finance subsidy in the form of a discount. A manager explained that this was not possible because there wasnt a finance subsidy, it was all factored in from the outset and hardly anyone actually bought stuff in the conventional manner of paying for it anyway. I am surprised that some shit let you pay the full up, they dont do business that way. They were very open and honest with me. You buy it dead cheap, have three years free chucky and nowt to pay in year one, anything else is anathema to them.

A cousin of mine is (was) a senior manager with Courts, same MO.

Think Zeitner watches marketing and you get the picture.

Sorry to hear you got stung.

Keep in mind rarely does anyone sit on that corner section so awkward is it to use. If anyone does no one can sit either side of them - legs get entangled. It's a nice design idea but a little impractical unless utilised as a coffee table section.

Au contraire LA, old chap.

We have just recently invested in an L-shaped sofa to fit an awkward living space (admitedly its modular, so could be reorganized if we move).

Its immense, a bit like a huge human nest. My favourite bit is the corner, you can even rest your drink on the back. Perfect for film watching.

Of course, it wasn't cheap, but then sofas are a bit like beds in that its false economy to scrimp.

I prefer my sofa's to have high backs so when you fall asleep, you dont get a stiff neck Leather is a good buy providing it's not a cheap one and has removable cushions. Ive had mine 5 years and it is as good now as it was when I bought it. But I do live on my own. with joy

I'd go for previous comments. Have two "normal" sofas separated by a coffe table in the middle. It extends the seating area as the corner piece cannot actually be sat in (unless its curved).

Then, when you change your mind, you can simply change your room around rather than be stuck with one layout.

Yours, Lawrence Lewellyn-Bowen (less of the dandy, shorter hair, proper fitting shirt cuffs, nothing like him at all actually...)

I think Courts went into liquidation last week....and peeps who ordered stuff if they paid in cash....are about to take a loss. Credit card payments will be honoured.

Personally I'd go for a couple of really comfy armchairs

First suite I ever bought was a modular corner group: never again. The corner was a coffee table, otherwise it was a waste of space as you couldn't store anything in it.
I think what arsed me off the most was that about once a week I'd come in from night shift and find that wife #1 had rearranged the blasted furniture again...

I bet you it's low-backed and therefore the only comfortable section on it!

thanks for the comments peeps

the problem we have is space! its a one bedroom house and we decided for our budget to go smaller but in a good area. for the same price we could have got a two or three bed in the same town but the area wouldnt have been as good.

The idea of the corner sofa came up as we though it would mean we could just have one sofa. And the mrs has her heart set on one. which is always the clincher!!!!
