I have just had cable TV installed here in Malta and have been told my UK TV won’t work because it is not enabled for the correct frequencies so I can’t tune it to the set top box. The frequency range they are using is a UHF range. They quoted something beginning with v (velox range?). Anyone know what this is? Is there a DIY way of modifying my TV to operate at these frequencies?

I’m not too bothered about wrecking the TV because it’s quite old and only cost 40 quid and I am getting a proper home cinema set up in the New Year. However, I would like to be able to watch TV for the next few weeks so I thought I might have a go and trying to get it to work myself if possible.

The model is a Sanyo CBP2180.

Don’t worry. Solved it. Take one phono lead. Link video out on the set top box to video in on the TV and audio out to mono in. Set the TV to the VCR channel. Easy
