Saturday
1)....found a great deal on my favourite tipple....bought a crate
2) filled the M5 up with Optimax (bless those supermarket fuel wars!)
3) had a 'spirited' hoon to enlighten the DME
4) Took my 4 year old daughter to a hotel near the airport as we were flying out early to lapland next day
& re-discovered the delights of trampolining on hotel beds....ordered chips & spicy chicken wings and we pigged out on our mini-picnic
5) laughed in the face of the mini-bar as i had packed bag with some of my cheap tipple purchased earlier

Sunday
1) full English brekkie
2) got on plane to Lapland
3) had a brekkie beer
4) got to the arctic circle(only -9 deg C so not too cold)...at airport saw an F-18 Hornet fighter take off in full afterburner...very impressive....good start
5) had snowball fight ,went tobogganing ,did reindeer sleigh ride ,husky dog sleigh ride,snowmobile/ski-doo ride .....got ticked off for 'hooning' ski-doo ....Hollie, my daughter had a wonderful time ...went to the ice-bar ...very cold....had a beer
6) Met the REAL Santa ....Hollie asked for a barbie bike and some toys...great pictures/video taken
...i asked Santa for a win for Birmingham City over Aston Villa that very day.....he said he'd try his best
7) Flew home with one very tired little daughter in tow
8) Got back to brum 1/2 hour ahead of scheduled time.........to find Blues beat Villa 2-1 thanks Santa !
9) Mrs Doyle gave me a very WARM welcome home that evening......

Sometimes life is just peachy.....

The highlight of mine was leaving a (admittedly badly driven) Boxter S behind on the way to Bournemouth, while the wife burst into the chorus fo "Poorshaaa Boxtaaaaa!"

Optimax fell in sympathy with the local 95 RON rates ....
85.9/litre is that good or not?

Sounds allright. Haven't managed to get to a Shell for quite a few weeks; the Alfa only needs filling about once a month at this time of year...

Cracking weekend. Faitless and Mylo and Bent live in Manchester Apollo.

Then spent Monday buying pressies and swearing at the car.
